Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was diagnosed with tarsal coalition during my ankle MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and ankle sprain. I would like to know how I can live with this condition my whole life.

Please advise.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Tarsal coalition is a condition where your foot bones are fused. This condition is correctable by surgery if your pain and difficult walk are unbearable. However, many footwears provide support walking and stability to the foot while walking, which you may have to use lifelong. Again, surgery is the best option available. If not going for surgery, the footwear or shoes can be used, but they are heavy and may be attention-seeking. Hope I have explained this in detail. Please provide your foot X-ray so that I can comment better. Please give a review and feedback on this answer.

Thank you.
