Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 19 years old, and my teeth are not aligned properly. I have tried Invisalign for three years, and they are not working. I wanted to know if there is any procedure or surgery that I can do to get my teeth straightened as soon as possible without braces or aligners. I do not really care about the cost or pain of the procedure, as I am willing to do whatever it takes to get my teeth aligned.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Please attach a clear picture of your front and side profile and also the teeth to help in assessing your case. If you are not willing to go for braces, then for quick treatment, you may consider putting ceramic veneers for the front teeth, which may be possible in some cases. The type of orthodontic treatment suitable for you depends on your specific case. Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Here are the pictures. Yes, I know the canines have to be brought down, and with the help of teeth alignment, they can be brought down into special spots.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You have written that canines have to be brought down, but your three canine teeth are missing, as seen in the pictures. Are the canines positioned too upward or downward that you cannot see them in pictures? Did you get them removed, or have they never come out? Why were you getting the Invisalign therapy when canines are not even in position? You should get an OPG (orthopantomogram) X-ray done and send that also to know more.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
The canines are in the gums and will have to be drawn down as they will not come down naturally. The Invisalign was to align the teeth and create space if the canines were to come down, which they still have not. While I am still on Invisalign, I am not seeing the progress. I would like to start something new. My local orthodontist told me we should start braces, and I am researching if there are any other types of treatment procedures, or even surgery to finally get my teeth properly aligned.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
As your orthodontist said, you need braces and have to create further space to help the canine come out. If not, then it may have to be surgically opened, and a bracket will be attached to it and pulled down. All this will be done by your orthodontist in time. Braces are the better option, it seems, for now. Thank you.
