Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have got eczema for the past six months, and it is increasing day by day. Before, it was on my buttock. But, suddenly, my stomach was itchy, and I got it there also. I have used many topical creams like Dexanol, Daktacort hydrocortisone. It seems to go away but comes back severe. It flares up in the cold and dry weather. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. The condition you have mentioned is not eczema. It is a superficial skin infection known as tinea corporis or dermatophytosis. It can affect your groin, buttocks, or any area of the skin and nails. I suggest you stop using steroid creams that you used earlier, as they are very harmful in this condition, just giving temporary relief. I suggest the following medicines for two weeks, then follow up. Take Capsule Itraconazole 100 mg twice a day. Use Cream Luliconazole apply once at night. Take Tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg once at night. I also suggest you keep your clothes, including a towel, separately and get your LFT (liver function test) test done. I hope you get well soon.
