How can severe pain in back tooth be treated?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My lower back tooth hurts severely. I have taken Tylenol and it is still not helping.

Answered by Dr. Naveen Thomas

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You may have an abscess with infection. You need antibiotics along with painkillers like Tylenol. Get an early appointment with your dentist and get an X-ray done to find which wisdom tooth or other molars are infected. You may need extraction or root canal treatment for it.
