Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had typhoid for 3 months and had a swollen mouth with mouth ulcers which subsided along with the typhoid fever. I am unable to consume spicy food even at present. I was taking vitamin C and vitamin B 12 it seemed to help. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Regarding your symptoms of mouth swelling and mouth ulcer following your typhoid treatment can this be due to medication side effects, any history of drug allergy, or ingestion of a hot substance?

Kindly take the following medications:

  1. Take a tablet of Acetaminophen 500mg and a tablet of Metronidazole 400mg thrice daily.
  2. Take a capsule of Piroxicam 40mg and a capsule of Co-Amoxiclav (Amoxicillin) 625mg twice daily.
  3. Take a tablet of Ketoconazole 200mg PO and a tablet of Acyclovir 800mg four times a day.
  4. Rise your mouth with a mouthwash four times daily.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
