Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 19 years old. My height is 172 centimeters and my weight is 52 kilograms. I always tend to forget where I keep things even if it is just a second ago. I am also having problems on focusing things that I do not like such as studying, waiting in lines, etc. I do not talk much with others, but when I do, I talk without stopping. I suspect that I have ADHD. I have not had any medications or gone to a hospital till now for this problem. What do you think about it?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern but you have not mentioned enough details which can help me diagnose ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below to deal with your concentration problems.

  1. You should exercise daily like at least going for a walk for 30 to 45 minutes.
  2. You should meditate daily for 20 minutes. You can just sit in one place in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing. Do not stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts, just let them be. It will increase your concentration.
  3. You should eat healthy home-cooked foods and avoid junk foods.
  4. You must drink enough water.
  5. You should spend quality time with your friends and family daily.
  6. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills, language, or musical instruments.
  7. You should get seven to eight hours of sleep daily.
  8. You must avoid tobacco, alcohol, or any substance abuse.

I suggest you do the following blood tests and follow up after one week.

  1. CBC (complete blood count).
  2. Thyroid profile.
  3. Vitamin B12.
  4. Vitamin D3.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
