How to treat boils which have occurred in the genital areas?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a boil near the end of my vagina, and it is hurting a lot. It pains a lot when I sit. I do not have diabetes. Can you kindly suggest some treatment? I am taking Telmikind Beta 50 tablet for blood pressure.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest you consult a specialist and take the following medications with their consent. Take Tablet Augmentin 625 mg (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid) twice daily for a week, Tablet Calpol 500 mg (Paracetamol) twice daily for three days, Tablet Pantop 40 (Pantoprazole) one tablet half an hour before breakfast, use Ointment T-bact (Mupirocin) to be applied twice daily. Perform dry, warm fomentation on the affected area three to four times daily.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had Clavam 625 tablets for the last four days; today is the fifth day. Can I continue with Clavam 625 for two more days, or should I take Augmentin 625 mg?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest increasing the dose of Clavam 625 (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid) to thrice daily for four more days. There is no need to replace it now with Augmentin 625.
