Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have got small itchy bumps on the clitoris, clitoral head, and its surroundings but, not near the vaginal opening. There are about five to six small itchy bumps. They itch constantly, but I avoid itching them. It bleeds when they are itched. I feel better when the bumps turn into ulcers.

I had an HSV-1 outbreak earlier near the vagina and, there were two big ulcers.

There are no known allergies. Latex irritates me and I have IUD.

I got the blood and urine tests done and the results were normal. I did not get tested for STDs.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and I will surely help you out.

As I understand from the details given by you, you had an HSV-1 (herpes simplex virus-1) outbreak earlier. I want to know how long it has been?

I further have the following questions:

  1. Are you having body pain?
  2. Is there any complaint of burning sensation or pain during urination?
  3. Are you sexually active? If yes, then with how many partners?
  4. As I understand, you do not prefer latex so it must not be because of condoms, right?
  5. Since how long you have got these ulcers or bumps?
  6. Are you planning for a pregnancy or already pregnant?

I also request you to please share an image with me and also get screened for HSV-2 (herpes simplex virus-2). I further advise you for the following:

  1. Wear loose-fitting clothes.
  2. Wear loose cotton underwear.
  3. Apply ice wrapped in a cloth to your genitals.
  4. Take a warm water bath daily.
  5. Use condoms to prevent any further infection to yourself.
  6. Ask your partner as well, if he also has any such problem.

Apparently, according to the details presented by you, it appears to be HSV-2 so you may consider screening for the same, and I request you to share the images also.

Do not worry. I am always there for you.

Please share the details as requested so that I can decide which medicines to prescribe for you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
