Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
There is some thrush coming out of my vagina and it is slightly yellowish like cottage cheese and along with that, my vagina is burning, itching, and inflamed.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Have you been treated for any other health issue like diabetes or any other chronic issue? If yes, it is better to have a regular check-up and proper treatment for that. Diabetes increases risks for infections. Overtreatment can destroy normal vaginal flora to make it more prone to the infection. You already have Fluconazole tablet, it is better to have 150 mg but it would be better if you take a high vaginal swab to check in the laboratory before starting treatment.
Have strict hygiene, use condoms to avoid transmission of infection. Wear soft comfortable undergarments. Avoid cosmetics and products locally and use water and soft razor for removing hairs. Have sitz baths frequently. After swab collection, have tablet Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily and tablet Metronidazole 400 mg eight hourly for 14 days along with Clotrimazole and Clindamycin vaginal suppository for alternate three nights. Collect swab report and discuss.
