Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have vaginal discharge for sometime, I do not know what is the cause. I have had unprotected sex recently and I had a delayed period for 15 days. The discharge started three days after I had unprotected sex but it is clear white sticky until some light yellow color appears, I have discomfort feeling below my stomach but not painful and it goes away after taking tablet Doxycycline. I took self medication of Doxycycline for one week, one capsule twice a day, morning and night. I am just worried why I still have discharge? Do I have any STD like chlamydia or gonorrhea? How long the discharge takes to go away after the antibiotic? Do I have to worry if my discharge lasts almost one month?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The cause of white discharge may be due to anemia, or low immunity. I have seen the attachment from the attached reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) and it shows a normal report. Your constant discharge for the last month may be due to anemia or your low immunity. I would advise you to have green leafy vegetables and a balanced diet to improve your health. Simultaneously you should clean your private parts with Dettol diluted in water after every urination so that anti-septic precautions are used.

Feel free for any other queries.
