Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I think I may have a yeast down there. My vagina is itching for almost 2 weeks now. I do not know if this is because of hormones because I have PCOS too and it has been 73 days since my last period. I started taking Duphaston to start my pills again. What can I do to stop itching down there?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I fully understand your problem and will surely help you. The symptoms which you have described, it is likely that you are suffering from vaginal infection. You have PCOS as well that makes the situation even more difficult. Are you experiencing any discharge also, what is the foul smelling resembles? It has been 73 days now since your last period. How was the flow and for how many days? Are you on any contraception method? Please get a urine routine and examination done.
For symptomatic relief, Candid CL (Clindamycin+Clotrimazole) vaginal pessary once at night time for 6 days. Surfaz SN cream local application once daily for 7 days. Tablet Allegra (Fexofenadine) 180 mg once at night for 3 days, vaginal wash for cleaning of private parts. Keep the area dry and wash your undergarments with mild soap only. Use barrier contraception (condoms) (if you are sexually active). If you do not get relieved with above mentioned treatment then you will require oral antibiotics and treatment of the partner too (in case you are sexually active). For PCOS you may try changing your medicine to some other similar medicine as Duphaston is pretty expensive although it is a good medicine otherwise.
