Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 32-year-old female, suffering from fever and chills for four days. The fever on the first day subsided after taking Dexa and Para injections. I also suffered from nausea, poor appetite, severe body aches, and mild dysuria on the second day. I have been taking Ciplox 500mg for the last two days. I am concerned about having a smelly vaginal discharge and pain in the left side lower abdomen region. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

From the description given by you, you were taking the treatment to relieve only the symptoms, when the underlying cause is still there. Fever with chills can indicate the presence of urinary infection and foul smeling vaginal discharge can be associated with vaginal infection. Symptoms are the same for both. Vaginal infection can be transmitted during intercourse and hence both have to be treated at a time. Before treatment confirm that you are not pregnant. I advise you to follow the below-mentioned instructions.

  1. For urinary infections, take Norflox ( Norfloxacin) tablet 400 mg twice a day and syrup Oricitral (disodium hydrogen citrate) one tablespoon thrice a day in a glass of water for seven days.
  2. For the vaginal infection, the below-mentioned tablets can be taken.
    1. Tablet Fluconazole 150 mg after lunch (only once without repetition).
    2. Tablet Azithromycin 1 gm an hour before food (only once without repetition).
    3. Tablet Secnidazole forte twice daily at night.
  3. All the tablets can be taken on the same day by you and your partner.
  4. After taking the tablets, take a capsule of Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for one week.
  5. Use a cleanser (Lactic acid 1.2%)twice a day.
  6. for maintaining the vaginal hygiene.
  7. Take a capsule of Clingen forte (Clindamycin)once at night for five days.
  8. Your partner can have the local application of any antibiotic and antifungal cream (Clotrimazole (antifungal), Gentamicin (antibiotic)) on the penis twice a day after washing for seven days.
  9. Avoid having intercourse till the infection is subsided.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you,

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
