Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I suffer from anxiety, ever since I was young. My anxiety comes in the form of severe nausea, dizziness, hot and cold sweats, and extreme fear of throwing up. I have been taking the drug Venlafaxine for the same, and I suffer from withdrawal symptoms. I have started losing control. I am scared.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern. You have been smoking marijuana which may be the cause of your anxiety. Sudden discontinuation of Venlafaxine (antidepressant) can cause withdrawal symptoms. It is better for you to be compliant with your medications rather than suffer from withdrawal and anxiety. Also, I suggest you take a tablet of Zosert (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) 50 milligrams twice daily along with a tablet of Clonotril (Clonazepam) 0.5 milligrams at night for a period of two weeks along with your existing medications. I advise you to remain abstinent from Cannabis as it can worsen your symptoms. Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent. I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
