Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am diabetic and also have cholesterol. My age is 45 years. I am taking the medicine K Glim M2 twice a day for diabetes and Rosuless 10 mg for cholesterol. Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I reviewed your results in detail (attachment removed to protect patient identity). My assessment are as follows: Vitamin D level is very very low for your age. This has a huge impact on diabetes control. Advise: Start over the counter Vitamin D supplement at least 5000 units daily and take it for eight weeks and have your level retested. Your cholesterol level is slightly on the high side and part of your cholesterol panel triglycerides is high 214. Advise: Diet control and starch control is very important. Cut back on the portion of rice, potato, and chappati. You can still eat just cut back on the portion. Limit the portion at one meal to the size of your fist or one cup. Avoid sweets at any cost. Your lead level is high. Avoid cooking in pots and pans that can contain lead or avoid using any utensils that have lead in it. This has an impact on your blood cells. Your HbA1c is 6.7 which is on the higher side for you. We expect less than 6.5 for good control. The medicines you are taking are fine. Controlling your diet to some extent will adjust all your numbers to normal. You need to lose some weight, so include exercise or walking daily in routine.
