Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 24-years-old and I am very thin. I have tried everything for weight gaining. I am on a proper diet. I also do regular exercise. I used to go to the gym for weight gain. I have taken the food supplements and I have tried each and every possible way to gain weight. I feel very insecure about my body.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with me. I can understand that it can be frustrating to feel like you have tried everything but still struggling to gain weight. Before I provide any recommendations, I want to ask a clarifying question: Have you seen a doctor or a nutritionist to discuss your weight concerns and rule out any underlying medical conditions that may be preventing weight gain?

If your doctor has ruled out any underlying medical conditions, there are still some things you can try to help with weight gain. Here are some tips that may be helpful:

  1. Increase calories to gain weight, you need to consume more calories than you burn. You can try including calories which include dense foods in your diet, such as nuts, cheese, avocado, and dried fruit.

  2. You can also try to eat more frequently throughout the day.

  3. Choose something high in protein and carbohydrates, such as a protein shake, Greek yogurt, or a small serving of a high-carbohydrate food.

Remember that gaining weight takes time, patience, and consistency. It is important to approach weight gain in a healthy way, rather than turning to unhealthy habits such as overeating or relying on supplements.

Thank you for consulting me.
