Hi doctor,

I stopped drinking soda about a year ago (not entirely, but I only have about a single soda a week, if I have one at all), and since then, I have gone from 156 to 149-150 pounds. I do not drink sugary or fatty drinks such as milk. I cut myself clean from soda and went straight to the water. As a 18-year-old girl I am not doing anything else to lose weight. Is it possible that these pounds lost are from cutting out soda alone? I used to have at least 18 cans a week, with a soda and at least two refills at every out-to-eat meal. I cannot access a doctor, and I feel excellent. I am just turned about my weight loss, as I have done nothing besides cut out soda to trigger it. Your answers will be helpful.

There are minor variations in weight; medically, it is not considered significant weight loss. And yes probable reason is the discontinuation of soda, as there are substantial changes in the quantity of soda. Even otherwise, minor weight changes are very well acceptable. This small change may occur due to minor dietary changes and exercises, which are not noticeable.
