Hello doctor,
I have been getting white cloudy, odorless discharge from the vagina ten days prior to the start of the period for the past five months. The discharge is associated with pain in the pelvis and back region. I also suffer from dysmenorrhea, and my periods are getting delayed by a week for the past two months. I was using antifungals and antibiotics before, but it was of no use. I take Azo tablets when the symptoms occur. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Is the discharge associated with itching? It looks like a mixed infection, so I getting a vaginal smear culture sensitivity done and take treatment accordingly. Taking antifungals and antibiotics will only worsen it.
Irregular periods are not related to this issue. There are various other causes like stress, change in lifestyle, and recent illness, which can cause transient irregular periods. If the irregular periods persist, you should get a thyroid test and an ultrasound done.
Hello doctor,
Yeah actually, antifungals worsened it. There is a mild itching present which is intermittent, so where can I get a vaginal smear test done?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
A vaginal smear would be possible only in an outpatient clinic settingin your area. There are vaginal pH (potential of hydrogen) strips that are available in pharmacies, but they would not give you accurate results.
