Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Suddenly I saw white heads and pimples on my jawline. I use salicylic acid face wash and toner, and I have oily skin.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. You seem to have grade 2 to 3 acne and will require oral antibiotics. The acne over the lower face, particularly the jawline, may also indicate a hormonal etiology. In addition, if you have irregular menses, recent weight gain, or unwanted hair growth, that might also indicate hormonal etiology. In that case, you can also consult a gynecologist. I would suggest the following medications for three weeks and then follow-up. Take Capsule Doxycycline - 100 mg once a day. Use Adapalene plus Benzoyl Peroxide gel - apply on acne once at night in a tiny amount without rubbing it. Use Benzoyl peroxide face wash. Do follow up after three weeks. Avoid too many sweets, whole cream milk, and chocolates. Please do not pick the lesions and avoid too much sun exposure while on Doxycycline. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
