Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a powdery residue coming from the corner of one side of my mouth. First, it looked like a white dot, now it looks bigger and whiter, and it is still not going away. What could it be? Is something from the sun affects my skin or allergy?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Is it a patch or powder-like substance? Since when are you having this? Any complaints about that? Kindly send the photo if possible.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. Now it is a white patch, but it started as a white substance. Kindly look at the photo below and suggest and have some skin allergies too.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

This is a classic case of seborrheic dermatitis, and the powdery substance that you are talking about is the scale of seborrheic dermatitis. The most common cause behind it is a fungus. I advise you to take Tablet Nizral 200 mg (ketoconazole) once daily for 21 days. Apply Kenz cream locally twice daily. Use Shampoo Sebowash biweekly and apply its froth on the lesion for ten minutes. Kindly review within three weeks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
