Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

One month ago, I had all four wisdom teeth removed. Recently I begin to have stiff feelings near the areas of extracted teeth, heart palpitations, difficulty in breathing, burning sensation in the gums and the head. There is no pain during eating or drinking. What could be the cause for this problem? Could it be somewhere because of a cracked tooth or some gum infection? It is tough to explain the feeling because, in the past, I had caries which was simply understandable from where the pain is coming, now it feels like it has to do something with gums or areas of removed wisdom teeth. Perhaps will a panoramic x-ray help me understand the problem and for the doctors?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your symptoms look like anxiety more than a tooth issue. Yes, when we remove the third molars there can be slight tightness because the occlusion gets little deranged in case you have any one of them functional. There is no need to worry, but get some IOPA (intraoral periapical) X-rays done or OPG (orthopantomogram), you can upload here or visit your dentist for proper evaluation. Make sure you are closing your teeth properly after surgery, because if you do not do it correctly there can be trismus (difficulty in mouth opening) and myalgia (muscle pain) near ear or above the ear that can be the reason. You can take Zerodol MR (Aceclofenac and Tizanidine) twice daily for a week, only if you are not allergic to it and also if you do not have any medical history.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
