Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

So, I was in the shower earlier and I found an open wound in my arm. It was not a scab I picked. It is a hole with a black dot next to it. I recently had the Rhogam shot because I am 29 weeks pregnant. It does not hurt but my arm is still tender and I got the shot a week ago. I do not understand what it is.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

  • I saw the photo (attachment removed to protect patient identity), and I think it is an inflamed area which might be due to the shot if this is the exact spot. If not, it seems as if something has bitten you.
  • My recommendation is to apply an ice pack on the wound and keep it clean with Povidone-iodine solution.
  • Consult your GP as quickly as possible if the wound hurts or if you get feverish.

Take care.
