Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a delivery driver and my work is to drive and lift boxes all the day. I have started having wrist discomfort and pain. Also now it is affecting my hand motion. Please help.

Answered by Dr. Muntaqa Butt

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern, these symptoms are due to compression of the median nerve at wrist level. It causes pain, tingling in the hands, and limited wrist movement. If this condition does not improve despite conservative measures, I suggest you visit an orthopedic doctor for a steroid injection or carpal tunnel release surgery. I hope this helps you.

Treatment plan

● I suggest you take the tablet Pregabalin (pregabalin and methylcobalamin) 50mg ( one tablet in the morning and one at night) in case of pain and use a wrist splint

Preventive measures

● Avoid lifting heavy objects. ● Avoid those tasks that involve wrist movements. ● Wear a wrist splint.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
