Hi doctor,

I am a 24-year-old married female who developed sudden pain in the upper left abdomen this morning. The pain gradually increased with stiffness in the upper left abdominal muscles. Also, I take the tablet Thyronorm 50 for thyroid my thyroid issues.

Please give your suggestions.

After carefully analyzing the history provided, I want to let you know there is nothing to worry about. Secondly, please answer the following questions:

1. Do you have gastric problems or problems related to your bowel currently?

2. Have you had a similar type of pain in the past?

3. Do you have difficulty or a burning sensation while passing urine?

4. Is the pain radiating to the back region?

5. Have you had any recent trauma, fall, or recent history of doing vigorous exercises?

For the time being, I suggest you to follow the instructions mentioned below,

1. Answer the above questions so that I can help you with the right treatment.

2. I suggest you to start using hot water towels or hot water bags over the affected area for pain relief.

3. Take the tablet Pantoprazole (antacid) 40 mg once daily for one week.

4. Take one tablet of Dicyclomine (anticholinergics) when there is pain.

Consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent. Do not worry, as it is nothing serious.
