Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had ovarian endometriomas and cysts in my twenties. I have two children without many problems. My periods are painful and heavy, but I did not consult a doctor. I have had my periods for a long time now. I can feel my ovaries aching on each side. And now I have very bright red blood. Still, I can feel aching in my right ovary. I am worried. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest you consult a gynecologist and have a physical examination done. I suggest it can be due to any of the following-

  1. PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) is when there is vaginal discharge around periods and after sex with itching, painful period, and sex. It can be cured with antibiotics for you and your partner.
  2. Endometriosis or a painful period with vaginal discharge around periods with blood stains and clots. Pain during sex and physical examination. This will need a scan to know if there are any adhesions around the uterus and ovarian cyst. It can be cleared by stopping your periods with pills or injections.
  3. Adenomyosis is almost as same as endometriosis. Treatment is almost the same. It can be treated with pills or injections.

Screening for any other pathology can be done by physical examination and scan. I hope I have clarified your query.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
