Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a heavy drinker and also smoke seven to eight cigarettes a day. I started feeling chest discomfort from last 10 days like I feel chest burns, nausea, abnormal heartbeat, cold sweat after I smoke and today I felt like very uneasy so I had one Ecosprin 75 mg and now I feel a little better. Do I need to consult like do I have any heart disease? My weight is 200 pounds, height is 5' 7", and BMI is 39.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, you should get one ECG (electrocardiogram) done from the local doctor and you may upload here as well if you need it. Regarding your current symptoms, likely possibility is of gastritis and reflux disease. You should avoid fatty, oily and spicy diet. Have some walk after having food instead of taking rest. Have multiple small meals instead of heavy meals. Have regular sleep habits and avoid stress. Lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits. Avoid smoking and gradually cut down your alcohol intake as well and both are known to cause gastritis. You should get prescribed tablet Pan DSR (Pantoprazole and Domperidone) 40 mg or Esomeprazole Domperidone combination before breakfast once a day for two weeks. If not adequately relieved, then you should add syrup Sucral O (Sucralfate and Oxetacaine) or Gelusil two teaspoons three times a day for a week.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
