Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern

During severe active acne, the inflammatory process can lead to scarring if the condition is not properly treated or treated late during the acne. Early treatment is crucial because inflammation causes damage to collagen fibers in the skin, which results in scar formation.

To help diminish scars, people should look for products containing collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin (natural ingredients that maintain skin structure, elasticity, and evenness).

Acne scarring can be more challenging to treat on darker skin tones due to the higher melanin pigmentation in the skin, which plays a role in the inflammatory process that occurs during acne.

Once scarring has occurred, it is unlikely to improve on its own or without treatment. Various options for scar treatment include topical gels and chemical peels. Additionally, CO2 fractional laser treatment is an option to reduce scars.

Chemical peels work by stimulating the skin to produce more collagen, which can help improve the skin’s texture and scar appearance. Fractional CO2 laser (carbon dioxide laser) is considered one of the most effective treatments as it stimulates fibroblasts (cells responsible for collagen production), increases collagen production, and improves acne scars.

For those who do not want to undergo cosmetic procedures, using topical gels containing collagen can help improve the appearance of scars. Sunscreen is important for skin protection but has a less direct effect on scar healing.

To prevent scarring, early and proper treatment of acne is key. Oral retinoids (such as Isotretinoin) are often recommended to reduce the risk of scarring and prevent future breakouts.

I hope this helps.
