Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been dealing with severe cystic acne and scarring on my face, accompanied by inflamed acne, large zits, and rash-like bumps on my back and face. Unfortunately, I am unable to identify the root cause of this issue, despite having tried numerous products that have failed to provide any relief. I have experimented with various options, including face washes, shea butter products, charcoal products, black soap and its products, and more. I have been using antibacterial medications for acne. My lab results show that I have celiac disease. Regrettably, I have been struggling with acne for several years now. Please assist me.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to Icliniq.com

I read your query and can understand your concern.

The occurrence of pimples is often related to hormonal changes and oily skin. Steps that can be taken to avoid pimples are as follows:

  1. Refrain from using hair oil or any sticky creams on your face.

  2. Avoid consuming oily foods, chocolate, and dairy products.

  3. Minimize exposure to dust, and remember to use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.

  4. Avoid rubbing creams vigorously on your face or entire body when applying them.

  5. Do not use any steroid creams.

  6. I suggest you continue the treatment for at least one month.

  7. Remember that face wash or soaps alone are not a complete treatment and may not provide significant benefits.

  8. Avoid touching the acne and resist the urge to squeeze or pop them.

  9. For treatment, I suggest you start with the following:

    1. Clindamycin: It is available in cream or gel form. This is a preventive and curative solution. Apply it all over your face and body in the morning.

    2. Adapalene gel: Apply it directly on the acne before bedtime.

    3. Also, I suggest you take one tablet of Doxycycline 100 mg daily.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

      Regards.
