Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My whole face is very oily and there are many bumps and large pores in the T-zone and cheeks. I usually also have acne on the cheeks, forehead, and neck. Once I have acne it sometimes turns into a dark spot and scars. I use AHA BHA exfoliant but I think nothing is really working. I have been using it for two years. Please help me because I think I am getting more acne scars and it lowers my self-confidence.

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for stopping by!

I am here to provide expert opinions on your medical issues.

Acne can be treated easily with facewash, tablets, and creams. Some people have more oilyness on the face which results in breakouts. After completing treatment for controlling the active breakouts, tablets can be stopped and creams need to be continued to prevent recurrence. Diet and lifestyle modifications are also important. Please do not do any self-treatment such as over-the-counter steroid creams. Do not burst the pimples with your fingers as it can result in ugly scars. The marks left behind after the pimples heal can also be treated.

I hope you got answers to all the queries you had.

Please follow up if needed.

Thank you.
