Are symptoms like fatigue, dizziness, headache, and muscle pain associated with allergic rhinitis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have not been feeling well for the past three months. My body is so weak, with fatigue, dizziness, headache, muscle pain, and blurry vision, and I have been experiencing chills and cold sweat. I was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis last year, and my turbinates are swollen. Are those symptoms still part of AR and swollen turbinates? I have been to many ENT doctors, but they cannot give me an answer for my problem. Anxiety is killing me, and my health is failing. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

In your case, a proper ENT (ear, nose, and throat) evaluation should be done. Sinusitis also needs to be ruled out by PNS (paranasal sinus) X-ray. For dizziness, the inner ear infection has to be ruled out by otoscopy ear examination and different tests. Check your thyroid problem by serum TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) estimation. If vision is affected much, then an ophthalmological reference should be done. According to cause, specific treatment is given. If the vision problem worsens and no cause is identified, then CT (computed tomography) scan can be planned. Consult a good otorhinolaryngologist for examination first.

I hope this will help you.

Thanks and regards.
