Are cramps and back pain after I-pill signs of pregnancy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My partner and I were intimate on the 10th of this month. I used I-pill on the next day. Due to that, I got bleeding on the 22nd which is my period date for four days. Now, I have cramps and back pain but not getting periods. Is it a sign of pregnancy?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Calm down. You already got your menses, but still, have cramps. It can be a side effect of the pill. Were your menses regular and was the bleeding normal bleeding as you have in your menses?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Yes, my periods were regular.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Well, that is good then that your menses were regular. When you got your menses on the 22nd, was the bleeding normal as you have in your menses? Secondly, when was your previous menses?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

The menses stay up to five days always and previously on 23rd of last month I had my last menses. On the 12th, I used I-pill then got bleeding on the 22nd for four days.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It seems you had your regular menses on due time with normal flow. You are in the safe zone. There is no reason to worry. Do you have nausea, frequent urination, headache or dizziness? Did you do a pregnancy test?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

There is no symptom as you mentioned. No pregnancy test was done.

Hello,
