Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My heart has suddenly started beating very fast for the last three years. My echocardiogram and ECG have always been normal. Lately, I have been experiencing chest pain and a kind of tingling in my right arm. My thyroid test results are also normal. I do not know what to do. The doctors here are unsure about my actual problem.
Can you please help me?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
This could be cardiac arrhythmias, such as PSVT (paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia) or atrial fibrillation, in which the heart rate suddenly increases and then suddenly decreases. What is your hemoglobin level? Have you ever measured your pulse rate during the episodes? Have you undergone Holter monitoring? Usually, an ECG is normal because it is often done between episodes. An ECG (electrocardiogram) performed during episodes will show abnormalities. It would be helpful if you could upload your ECG and echocardiogram reports for further evaluation.
Is there any stress or anxiety associated with or preceding the increase in heart rate? Until your evaluation is complete, you can continue taking Bisoprolol. If none of the above options are successful, the last option is an electrophysiological study, which is an invasive test that can diagnose and often treat arrhythmias permanently in most cases.
I hope this helps, and please get back to me with more information.
