Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 31 year old female. I had a cesarean delivery before eight years. Since then, I have been having some light to medium pain in the lower back.

In the last few months, the pain has increased and is regular every day now. It pains clearly when it is pressed. Also, in the last few weeks, the bone of neck pointed bone between both the shoulders also giving pain.

Also, I have pain in both the knees and backside muscles, some itching or irritation type of pain happens throughout the day. It becomes worse at night before sleeping. These problems get worse during monthly periods.

Currently, I am using copper-T and this also gives abdominal pain. I have attached all my blood tests and x-ray report for reference. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. I have reviewed your concerns regarding post-cesarean section back pain, which is a common experience for many women. This discomfort can arise from nerve damage during surgery, spinal anesthesia, and uterine contractions. Fortunately, such pain typically diminishes over a few months. However, it's essential to consider other factors contributing to the pain, such as calcium deficiency, which can occur due to its secretion in breast milk. This deficiency may lead to generalized body pain and weakened bones. I recommend checking your serum calcium and vitamin D levels and conducting a bone mineral density test. If needed, calcium and vitamin D supplements can be prescribed. For copper-T, it is advisable to consult your gynecologist for an evaluation. Additionally, if you experience increased pain during periods, it may be due to intensified uterine contractions. For relief, you can consider tablet Meftal spas (Mefenamic acid) during periods, but please consult your doctor before taking any medication.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
