Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing repeated urine infections with white discharge for the past 4-5 months. I have had two episodes of piles, and I have been dealing with thyroid issues for the last 5 years. My blood pressure and sugar levels are consistently normal. Taken three months ago, my TSH is 4.07, T3 is 130, T4 is 8.72, Hemoglobin is 9.50, and Transferring Saturation is 15.20.

For the last 20 days, my stomach has been extremely bloated, resembling the appearance of pregnancy. I am also experiencing stomach pain. In the morning, I feel pain in my right ankle. I have consulted with a surgeon, gynecologist, and gastroenterologist, but I am unsure which specialist to follow. My weight is 163 pounds, and my height is 5.1 feet.

The gynecologist has recommended sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate syrup, Feronia XT (iron supplement), and Atoz multivitamin, along with Panca-D on an empty stomach. The gastroenterologist has suggested chlordiazepoxide, clidinium bromide, aciloc 150, diastase, alpha galactosidase lipase, pepsin syrup, and vitamin D3 tablets.

What steps should I take for my stomach bloating? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have thoroughly reviewed your reports and prescription (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) . I would suggest the following:

  1. For the ankle pain, I suggest you to check your uric acid levels. Following that, consider consulting with a rheumatologist for further evaluation.
  2. Iron supplements can sometimes lead to abdominal pain and constipation. Given your Hemoglobin level of 8.0, I recommend considering IV iron (Ferrinject) supplementation along with a two-week course of Omeprazole 40 mg once daily to address potential abdominal discomfort.

Regarding the hemorrhagic cyst, it appears to be within the normal range based on the scan.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to ask.

Thank you.
