How can I reduce my blood pressure without medicines? Please suggest.

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My BP is normal. But when I go to a doctor, my BP becomes high. I checked for two times, and my BP was found to be high. I am not taking any medicines. My ECG is normal. How can I reduce my BP? Please suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The standard BP (blood pressure) ranges between 110 by 70 mmHg to 120 by 80 mmHg. I think your BP is within the range and any reading above this normal range is considered to be abnormal or high. High BP can be temporary or transient depending upon the triggers. A person can have high blood pressure if the BP remains consistently and persistently high for one to two weeks. In this case, tests like ECG (electrocardiography) can be done before the medications are given. You can reduce blood pressure by reducing the intake of salt, fatty foods, do a lot of exercises, and have a good sleep. Be relaxed.
