Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am experiencing pain in my left hand, as well as occasional back pain and leg pain. My vitamin B12 level is 187 pg/mL, and my hs-CRP is 3.9 mg/L. Additionally, my TSH value is 5.98 IU/L. Fortunately, my ECG results came back normal, showing sinus rhythm as normal. Please give your suggestions.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concerns regarding your multiple-site pain. After reviewing your reports and considering your high vitamin B12 and hs-CRP (high sensitive C-reactive protein) levels (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity), I suggest you to take vitamin B12 injections to address the issue more effectively and maintain your vitamin B12 levels. To address your hs-CRP levels, it is important to make lifestyle and dietary changes. So, I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below,:

  1. Increase your daily intake of fruits and vegetables.

  2. Engaging in brisk walking for at least 30 to 45 minutes daily.

  3. Avoiding fatty, oily, and non-vegetarian foods.

  4. Working on weight loss to maintain a healthy BMI (body mass index).

  5. Incorporating flax seeds into your diet.

  6. Consider joining a gym and following a customized diet plan.

By implementing these measures, you can effectively manage your hs-CRP levels. I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.

    Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,'

My hs-CRP value where in 1 in February but increased to 3.9 does it have any specific reason to raise and is it due to vitamin B12 deficiency? Kindly answer.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

There is no evidence that low vitamin B12 would raise hs-CRP level. hs-CRP is an inflammatory marker that is raised due to poor lifestyle and diet, and in patients with underlying diabetes, high blood pressure. You just need to make the lifestyle changes that I advised along with supplements. It will all be resolved slowly as you lose weight and make dietary changes. I hope this helps.

Thanks and regards.
