Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My partner and I tried to have sex for the first time. We are both virgins. I had put on a condom, but I ejaculated before penetrating her, and the condom leaked. A few drops fell on her vagina from the outside. Will there be any problem? Should she take an I-pill?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
If you do not want to take any chances, then she should take an I-pill (emergency contraceptive pill) within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
We did not have intercourse. I had pre-ejaculation and the condom leaked before the penetration. We did not go ahead with it. But, a few drops fell on her vagina from the outside. Should she still take an I-pill?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
When were her last periods? What is her usual cycle length? Tell me so that I can guide you better.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
Her usual cycle is 44 days. But, her last period was four months ago. She has not had her periods since then as she was ill. She also had a talk with her doctor about her irregular periods.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
In that case, we cannot predict the safe period. In the above situation, the chances of pregnancy are very less, but still, if a few drops fell on the vagina, it would not be safe. In my opinion, she should take the pill.
