Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a raised bump like a mole on the artery on my penis shaft. It is not hurting but bothers me a lot. When pressed, it flattens but rebounds when pressure is removed. I suffer from ED, and I am 80 years old.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thanks for consulting us. The picture (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) seems like a venous valve. It is asymptomatic, and there no issues. There is no need to remove it as it is a normal thing. There is only one reason to remove it, which can be for a cosmetic purpose upon your request, and the removal will be surgical.
If you have any more queries, please do not hesitate to ask.
Kind regards.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Can you please tell me a bit more about this varicose vein on my penis shaft? Is there any treatment? How long will it take to cure?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
This is not a varicose vein. It is a venous valve, and it is unusual to be present on the penile shaft. Venous valves are normally present in different veins in our body, and they do not need any treatment. In case valves get incompetent or dilated, they can cause tortious veins called varicocele and will need treatment which is not present in your case. So since this valve is competent and normal, then no need for treatment. I would suggest leaving it as it is.
Kind regards.
