Hello doctor,

I had unprotected sex with a girl. After two days, the tip of my urethra has been sensitive, and I have had frequent urination. A small bump has also appeared at the bottom of my urethra. What can I do? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It can be a post-contact infection. I suggest you take an STD (sexually transmitted diseases) screening test to check the above. I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Thank you doctor,

What exactly do you mean by post-contact infection? Do you think it is a severe STD? I cannot get a screening done for a few days due to financial issues. Do you think I will be fine if the symptoms seem to be getting better? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Maintain proper hygiene. Yes, you can wait for a few days. Meanwhile, you can manage by regularly cleaning the area. Keep the area dry, and if redness or any abnormal discharge comes out, I suggest you get a screening done immediately. I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Thank you doctor,

Do you think there is any chance it could be herpes? The bump is fleshy, but there is no discharge. Can it be serious? Please advise.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, it does not look like herpes. I suggest you meet your physician to get more clarity on this. Frequent urination suggests urethritis (infection of the lower part of the urinary tract). I hope this helps.

Thank you.
