How can a patient manage a burning sensation at the tip of the urethra and the lower side of the penis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having burning sensation in the tip of the urethra and the lower side of the penis that keeps on coming and going. I have undergone UTI (urinary tract infections) test. I did not notice any discharge or change in the color of the penis or urine.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I think you have chronic prostatitis with inflammation of the prostate gland. I suggest you take the tablet Tamsulosine 0.4 mg once at night for 30 days and the tablet Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice daily for 28 days (consult a specialist doctor, talk with him or her, and take medications with their consent). I suggest you start taking herbal medicines for three months.
