Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

While sleeping, I somehow bit my cheek. Then I felt there was a hardball-like thing inside of it. It was not on the surface but inside. When I looked with my flashlight, I also saw tiny brown dots inside of my mouth.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I hope you are well.

Thanks for approaching icliniq.

I saw your query, and I will help you solve your doubts. Cheek biting is seen in bruxism. There are certain appliances for stopping the habit of bruxism. I cannot understand what hardball is? I hope it is an ulcer with or without pus due to cheek biting. If it is an ulcer, do not worry; it will subside. Apply coconut oil thrice a day for three days. If it is with pus means, take an antibiotic tablet twice a day for three days. But pus can be associated with dental caries also so take an x-ray. The brown dots on the teeth may be stains or initial caries, or fluorosis.

  • Do scaling for stains.
  • Do restoration for dental caries.

I have said the possible causes and treatment procedures. But I am not sure of what are the brown spot and hardball are? I advise you to send me an intraoral clinical picture to diagnose and confirm the following treatment procedure. After that, you can continue with coconut oil or antibiotics or scaling. I suggest you confirm the diagnosis before proceeding with the treatment plan. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you. Have a nice day.
