Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have not been feeling well for the last six months. I am suffering from gastro issues. I suffer from continuous nausea, chest burning sensation, and pain on the left side. I have stopped eating dairy, fried and fatty foods. I found out at that time that I have gallbladder sludge. I was suffering from a sharp pain in my abdomen that radiated to my back. It went away, but I have been suffering for the past couple of months with this awful heartburn and acid reflux, and severe nausea daily. I get different pains from my stomach to my chest. I am on vacation, and I can not see a doctor. I want to know if this is a medical emergency or if I could wait. I am currently on Buspirone, Lorazepam, Magnesium, Potassium, Pepcid, and vitamin B, K, and D3.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Well the symptoms for last few months does not seem emergency, so yes you can wait. The symptoms seems to be secondary to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). For this I would suggest you capsule Esomeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) 40 mg once daily half hour before meals. The symptoms should start reducing within first four days of taking this medication. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them and take the medicines with their consent.
