Hello doctor,

I have hyperthyroidism and currently taking Neomercazole 5 mg once daily along with Inderal 10 mg twice daily. However, now I am faced with the need to undergo gallbladder removal surgery.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

From what you have attached (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity), it appears that your thyroid gland is well-controlled. Regarding your gall bladder surgery, you will have to continue to take your medication as prescribed. No changes are to be made.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you for consulting me.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Does that mean I can undergo surgery?

Answered by Dr. Shaikh Sadaf

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Glad to have you back.

Yes, from a thyroid point of view. But of course, you will need fitness from an anesthetist as well. And for other conditions that you might have, for which I cannot give any fitness.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you for consulting me.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
