Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had sex four days back with my fiancee. Her next period date is two weeks later. During the intercourse, the condom tore and the sperm entered her vagina. Within 24 hours she consumed an I-pill. Her stomach was paining a lot and feeling drowsy the whole day. The next day (after 48 hours) she consumed an I-pill again. Her stomach is paining a lot. Will she get pregnant? In how many days the periods should come? The symptoms of the I-pill and pregnancy are almost the same. So, I am very confused. Should she get a check-up done with a doctor? If yes, should we go to a gynecologist or a sexologist?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
There was no requirement for a second dose of I-pill. The pain in the abdomen is due to the Progesterone effect and that can be countered by increasing the water intake. The withdrawal bleed starts only after 4 to 5 days of taking an I-pill, so you should have been patient. Presently, if the pain is more, then she can opt for an NSAID for pain relief and hot fomentation. Please ask her to take 3 to 4 quarts of water in a day and that shall soothe her symptoms. She is unlikely to get pregnant as she has taken the first pill within 24 hours and should have waited for the bleed to start. Now, she needs to wait and watch and keep herself hydrated. Once the bleed shall start it shall indicate that she is not pregnant. If the pain is not controllable then she should be visiting a gynecologist at the hospital for pain relief.

Thank you doctor,
Should I consult a gynecologist?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
If the pain still continues, then you should take her to the gynecologist.
