Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
For the past three months, I have been having a dry cough. I consulted a doctor who advised me to take Augmentin 625 mg, Grilinctus, Betadine gargle, and steam for five days. That gave me a lot, but not full relief. I continued gargling and steaming for some more time. Since then, the cough has been reducing. But some amount of mucus remains in my throat. Nothing comes out, but it keeps giving me a feeling of something there.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The problem you are suffering from is a viral illness that is temporary. You also need to check for any triggers that cause the mucus to increase. If you started with a dry cough, there should be no mucus build-up anymore. The feeling in your throat may possibly be due to the dryness of your membranes. Please double your water intake, and you should notice a considerable change. You can also take a tablet Neksium 40 (Esomeprazole) on an empty stomach in the morning so that any gastric irritation can be prevented by this.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have some relief, but the same feeling is still there. There are some observations when I wake up in the morning, I feel very thirsty. The throat is dry. When I took small quantities of watermelon or mango shake, the throat condition deteriorated. When my hands are exposed to water, the upper portion of my fingers gets wrinkled. The photos of before and after are attached.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
It is quite clear from your observations and pictures (attachments removed to protect patient identity) that the problem you are suffering from seems to be allergic, and hence the previous treatments did little to help you. It looks like you may be allergic to cold water or certain cold foods like watermelons, etc. Please avoid each of them and observe your improvement. Only you will have to observe what you are allergic to and note your triggers. Alongside to aid in faster relief start with Levocetirizine 10 mg for 10 days and note any changes. This should resolve your problems collectively.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
