Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have taken the CT scan images of my brain but the report here is taking too long. So can you please have a look at the images? I am attaching the image viewer application with images in it. Just run it and keep pressing the right arrow key on the keyboard and the images will continue as a slideshow.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The findings of the CT (computed tomography) scan from the attached reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) are as follows:

  1. There is no intracranial bleeding.
  2. There is a mucosal retention cyst in the left maxillary sinus.
  3. There is mild bilateral ethmoid and right frontal sinusitis.
  4. The cerebral hemispheres, brainstem, and cerebellum demonstrate normal attenuation without focal abnormality.
  5. The basal ganglia, internal capsule, corpus callosum, and thalamus appear normal.
  6. The cerebral ventricles are normal-sized and symmetrically arranged. There are no signs of increased intracranial pressure.
  7. The cisternal spaces appear normal.
  8. The interhemispheric fissure is centered on the midline.
  9. Sella and pituitary are normal. Parasellar structures are unremarkable.
  10. There are no abnormalities in the cerebellopontine angle areas on both sides.
  11. The orbital contents are unremarkable.
  12. There are no abnormalities in the calvarium.
  13. Cranio-cervical junction is intact.
    1. No significant neuro parenchymal abnormality.
    2. There is a mucosal retention cyst in the left maxillary sinus.
    3. There is mild bilateral ethmoid and right frontal sinusitis.
    4. Suggested clinical correlation.
    5. Regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply,

Are these findings worrisome? Should I take any treatment for it because I do not have any symptoms related to it? I did a CT scan for the tinnitus issue.

Hi,

Welcome to back icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The findings are not serious. However, sinusitis might cause mild headaches in some people. I request to share your symptoms to give any additional information.

Regards and thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
