Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My partner and I are quite scared because her period was supposed to happen a day ago, and all she has is mild cramps. We had fun a week before but no penetration or ejaculation. She is still a virgin. Should we worry about a possible pregnancy? And what can we do to prevent it?

Answered by Dr. Hira Chaudhry

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If there has not been any penetration or ejaculation, pregnancy is highly unlikely. The period may be delayed due to other causes such as hormonal imbalance or stress. She should wait at least three to seven days to confirm if the period is just delayed. Then she can take a pregnancy test. If the pregnancy test is negative and her period is still delayed. Please contact me again so that I can prescribe medicine to induce a period.

I hope this helps.
