Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had protected sex with my boyfriend last month. He did not ejaculate, but my period was late for four days. Should I take a pregnancy test? Kindly suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. As you had protected sex and your partner did not ejaculate, the chances of pregnancy are low. Your period may be delayed for other reasons, such as stress, changes in diet or exercise, or hormonal imbalances. But, if you are concerned about pregnancy, you can take a home pregnancy test. However, I suggest you to wait at least a week after a missed period for accurate results.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
