Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having a concern. I was supposed to have my periods a week back but so far I just received a brownish discharge like old blood but it is just spotting. When I take a bath it is as if I just finished my periods. I have a pain in my lower back like period pain but I have not started yet. What could be wrong?

Please advise.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Are you on any hormonal medications or started or quit any medications? Check for the following factors:

  1. Strenuous exercise.
  2. Hormonal imbalance.
  3. Strict diet.
  4. Illness.
  5. Hypo or hyperthyroidism.
  6. Stress, anxiety, lower and higher BMI (body mass index).

If you have always experienced regular cycles and only this time there is a delay, then observe coming cycles and activities and above-given factors for the previous cycle. Have a healthy diet with regular exercise and normal BMI. Try to discuss medications and side effects before taking if you have been taking for any problem. Observe for weight gain or abnormal hair growth. If irregularities are observed or any abnormal symptoms you feel in coming months, you might need investigations. Think positive.

I hope this helps.

Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
