Q. How to deal with loneliness and depression?

Hello doctor,

I have been feeling very low and lonely for the past few years. There is nothing that interests me, and I do not feel like doing anything. I feel blank at times.

It seems you suffer from depression. Depression is a common but treatable psychiatric illness. So, I suggest you the instructions mentioned below.

1. Practice deep breathing exercises.

2. Do meditation and yoga.

3. Sleep and wake up at the same time every day.

4. Do regular physical activities like dancing, jogging, or gyming.

5. Eat a healthy, nutritious diet.

6. Do tests like thyroid function tests, and serum vitamin B 12 levels. I also suggest you consult a specialist for the same.
