Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Could a small nasal spur cause symptoms of allergic rhinitis? Does mine look like it? Do I need to remove it?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The only symptom that is present along with a deviated septum and allergic rhinitis is nasal blockage and sometimes there is a headache. This single film is not enough to describe the position of the nasal septum. According to this single film, (attachment removed to protect patient identity) your nasal septum looks straight and it is not deviated.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have attached the reports.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

This is an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan and it is more specific to show soft tissues. But CT (computed tomography) scan is more specific to view bones and cartilages. But it is fine as I can see the septum clearly. Ongoing through the MRI report, your septum seems to be deviated greatly and it results in constant or recurrent nasal obstruction especially at the left side and you can have headaches along with it.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
